Ellmau – TV fans have been looking forward to the new season of “Der Bergdoktor” for months, and before you know it, the 16th edition of the popular home series is already racing towards the finale again.
Before there is a happy ending for the series stars around Hans Sigl (53), four more episodes full of great family moments and breathtaking mountain landscapes will flicker across the screens.
For the Grubers, things are unusually dramatic – and as the season is rapidly approaching its climax, everything is at stake for the likeable family.

In the last scenes of the 15th Bergdoktor season, Dr.
Martin Gruber say goodbye to Franziska (Simone Hanselmann, 43) and Anne (Ines Lutz, 39) and the life of the country doctor is also turbulent in the eight new episodes of the popular ZDF series.
His secret love affair with Sonja, the deceased wife of his brother Hans (Heiko Ruprecht, 50) and mother of his daughter Lilli (Ronja Forcher, 26), threatens to come to light because of Caro Pfluger (Barbara Lanz, 39) and destroy his family happiness.
There are also puzzling patient cases that he and his colleague Dr.

After months of shooting in the Wilder Kaiser region, the eight new Bergdoktor episodes have been running on Thursdays since December 29th on ZDF - and for those who are particularly curious, they are already available a week before in the ZDFmediathek.
After "Im Netz" (January 26), "Spiel mit dem Feuer" (February 2) and "Neuland" (February 9), the big season finale follows with the ominous title "Der Weg zurück" - in which the tensions have reached their boiling point in recent weeks.
If you don't want to stream the new episodes in advance and are waiting for the TV broadcast, you unfortunately have to be patient. Because while "The Way Back" on ORF2 starts as planned on February 15th, ZDF will only show the spectacular TV event on February 23rd. Instead, “Kölle Alaaf – The Girl Meeting” takes over the slot in the second – but waiting a week longer should only increase the anticipation of seeing the mountain doctor again.

Although there are still a few weeks until the TV premiere of "Der Weg zurück", the ZDF program preview already shows how stormy it will be at the end of the 16th Bergdoktor season.
At the Grubers' house, things are going awry because Hans cannot forgive his brother for his relationship with Sonja, and Martin, who is banned from the Gruberhof, sets about leaving Ellmau and moving to New York.
Although Lilli and Mama Lisbeth (Monika Baumgartner, 71) try to stop him, it seems as if everything could change in Martin Gruber's life soon.

The relaxed and peaceful mood of the first Bergdoktor seasons has long since given way to great drama and explosive moments, but the series still inspires fans.
The actors also draw attention to themselves outside of the shooting – above all, the fact that there are two different Hans's in the series family, Hans Sigl and Hans Gruber, tends to cause confusion.
