Marktoberdorf – Prime Minister Markus Söder was the guest of honor at the CSU New Year's reception in Modeon on Tuesday (own report follows).
He also had a promise for Marktoberdorf in his luggage.
MdL Angelika Schorer had already stated in her speech to around 250 party colleagues that her big wish for 2023 was a technology center for robotics in Marktoberdorf.
She already has the support of the local entrepreneurs, who should benefit from the cooperation with universities.
A few minutes later, Söder fulfilled her wish: "Of course there will be a technology promotion center in Marktoberdorf and it will be launched this year," promised Söder.
District Administrator Maria Rita Zinnecker explained in an interview with the district
messenger
that Söder's specific commitment was "very gratifying".
Preparations are already underway in the city.
Marktoberdorf's business promoter Philipp Heidrich when asked: "The message came as a positive surprise to us.
We put a lot of time and energy into the preparation together with the university, IHK, representatives of industry and many others." But patience is still required: "After Mr Budget negotiations have to be awaited in two weeks' time," said Heidrich.
Anticipation also with Mayor Dr.
Wolfgang Hell: "We have been working on this for years together with the Kempten University of Applied Sciences and great support from our state parliamentarian Angelika Schorer.
Nevertheless, Mr. Söder surprised me with his commitment.
