150 young men and women participated in the afforestation campaign, which aimed to plant 2,000 saplings of pine nuts and carob trees in the sports city in Lattakia to enhance the aesthetic appearance and increase green spaces as a destination and outlet for most of the people of the province.
Tahani Shliha, head of the Youth and Sports Office of the Arab Socialist Baath Party branch in Lattakia, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the event organized by the office in cooperation with the Directorate of Agriculture and the Sports City Administration comes as a continuation of the voluntary campaign that was launched last Thursday to support the efforts of the city council in cleaning the vicinity of the sports city. Volunteers planted seedlings under the supervision of engineers from the Directorate of Agriculture.
The participants, Saer Adra and Hayam Abdel Rahim, indicated that the youth’s enthusiasm and active participation in voluntary activities is firm evidence of their awareness of the size of the responsibility they bear towards their society and their country, as the values that such activities enshrine are capable of ensuring a better future for Syria and its people, as youth are an essential pillar in the next stage. and rebuilding the country.
