The head of the sexual crimes team at the Rosh Ha'Ain police, Major Friedi Kaminecki, told today (Thursday) about the decoding of the severe rape in the city after ten years, following a DNA sample taken from the suspect's brother.

"He is a resident of Rosh Ha'Ein, lives very close to the scene. Today he is in his 30s," the policewoman told in an interview with "Sheva Tshea" with Nissim Mashal and Guy Peleg on 103FM.

"He apparently lives a normal life. I interrogated him, at first he was of course on the market, people like that think they will never be caught."

"What is important to know is that even if you continue to lead a normal life and say 'from now on I will not commit any crime in order not to be caught' - you cannot escape from crime," she added.

"At first he denied, little by little he actually admitted, giving us details that only those who were at the scene and committed the crime could know and tell us."

The officers arrived at the suspect after his brother, who had recently been involved in a fight, was arrested.

A DNA sample taken from him during his arrest led to the identification of the family connection with the rape suspect a decade ago.

At the beginning of the month, a resident of Tel Aviv was arrested on suspicion of murdering Liora Hayut in 2015, who was found lifeless in her house that caught fire and at first there was no suspicion of criminality.

But in August, there was a development in the investigation of her death after a man's DNA was found at the scene, and it was found to match the suspect.

The 42-year-old Hayut lived in a studio apartment in the Florentine neighborhood, and was an artist who gave sculpting and creative workshops.

In 2015, an animal was found in her burned apartment, and for a long time it was not clear whether it was an accident or a deliberate arson.
