"Yesterday was a very hard day for Fernando's parents, but we achieved our goal"

This was said by Fernando Burlando, a lawyer for the victim's family, who asked yesterday along with his team for life imprisonment for the eight rugby players.

"Yesterday it was achieved, it was a very hard day for Fernando's parents, but we achieved the objective of combining testimonial, expert evidence, video footage, recreating the reality of what happened," he said in dialogue with

CNN radio

.

Referring to the defendants, he said: "These people came out to celebrate Fernando's murder and it is reflected in subsequent communications, which is why the details of what has happened have been both interesting and cruel at the same time."

What will be the defense strategy?

Hugo Tomei, defense attorney.

Tomei's strategy outlined during the oral debate was based on demonstrating that the crime of the young law student was in the context of a fight, so that his guidelines could point towards a "homicide in a fight or assault", which according to the article 95 of the Criminal Code provides for a sentence of between 2 and 6 years in prison.

Both request that the eight defendants be sentenced as co-perpetrators "Doubly aggravated homicide for having been committed with treachery and with the premeditated cooperation of two or more people in an ideal competition with minor injuries", for the crime of Fernando Báez Sosa.

"Guarino and Collazo saw more than they said"

Prosecutor Gustavo García explained why he asked to prosecute for false testimony against the two young people who accompanied the rugby players in Villa Gesell and who testified as witnesses.

"We believe that they omitted to respond to things that they must have seen where they were located. They must have seen more than what they said," García said tonight, leaving the Dolores courts.

And he gave his feedback on the video that Burlando showed, which shows the eight rugbiers at the crime scene."

"We somehow showed Lucas Pertossi by witnesses. I don't know if we were able to show Viollaz, but we had ever seen it in pictures," Garcia said.

"I don't know if I took it as a montage. The court was very clear: the same videos, the only thing different is that they are synchronized," he completed.

The Prosecutor's Office, like the complaint, requested life imprisonment against the eight defendants.

What Fernando Burlando said about the videos he showed

Fernando Burlando after the first day of arguments in the trial for the crime of Fernando Báez Sosa.

"It is not an instance of evidence. We wanted to expose with words and then with images. With the videos that we had been seeing in the last three years, I knew that the court would have a hard time identifying the defendants. With the videos that we provided, we facilitated the task. Not to incorporate it as evidence, but to identify each defendant," explained the lawyer for the Báez Sosa family.

With these records, he also located Luciano Pertossi at the crime scene, the "excited" attitude of Blas Cinalli "about to trigger, to hit. And Viollaz the same."

"It was a very hard day. Listen to all the allegations. Justice will be done, we trust in justice. Today everything was clearer than ever," said the father of Fernando Báez Sosa.

When asked about his eventual participation in the allegations tomorrow, he said: "Surely one of the two will speak. Depending on what Burlando tells us and how we feel."

"I would tell the judges to think of their children and the neighbors when they decide the sentence."

"Really, my son was murdered in the worst way. They had no mercy. I want them to pay. Give him the maximum penalty. Let the judges' hands not shake," said Graciela.

"I trust Justice," added Fernando's mother.

"I agree with what the Prosecutor's Office requested and also with what Dr. Burlando requested."

Reconstruction of the location of the defendants: locates the eight rugbiers at the scene

The video projected by Fernando Burlando also shows a reconstruction by aerial images of the location of the rugbiers and their displacement on the scene, around the body of Fernando Báez Sosa.

What the videos of Fernando Burlando show

After the discussion and the judge's OK, they project images.

It shows the episode on the dance floor of Le Brique.

Máximo Thomsen is seen pointing at Báez Sosa and passing his hand around his neck.

"In clear announcement that you are dead, and so it was," said Burlando.

Then he shows images of the beating, the kicks that -already with Fernando on the ground- unleash the "no".

First they follow Máximo Thomsen, then Enzo Comelli.

They follow Ciro Pertossi, Ayrton Viollaz, Luciano Pertossi.

"Conveying the horror, the savagery and the brutality," Burlando said.

Then he shows the attack from another angle.

They identify Blas Cinalli, Matías Benicelli, Lucas Pertossi, Enzo Comelli.

Also to Ayrton Viollaz, Luciano Pertossi and Máximo Thomsen, from the sidewalk in front.

"They have full control of their body. They are normal movements. They are not in the conditions that they tried to locate due to alcohol consumption," says Burlando.

Fabián Améndola's intervention ends: Hugo Tomei does not want Fernando Burlando to show a video
