Helpers in kindergartens and classrooms started a protest this morning (Thursday) to improve their employment conditions, and did not show up for work.

Following the protest, dozens of kindergartens in Ramat Hasharon, Rosh Ha'Ein and Tel Aviv remained closed.

Now, the factions are threatening to strike until the negotiations progress. An anonymous message circulated reads: "Today the opening shot for our struggle has begun, we will not be silent until there is an immediate significant improvement in our wages."

The organization for the protest was done through anonymous circulars, in which helpers were told to issue sick certificates and not go to work. The protest took place without coordinating with the Histadrut Ma'of, which is responsible for the auxiliaries.

However, the Histadrut expressed support for the struggle and clarified that they intend to declare a labor dispute and take steps themselves if the current situation is maintained.

"We will no longer be able to stop this battered sector, both on the edge and the treasury is procrastinating," said Lavalle!

Chairman of the Histadrut HaMouf, Gil Bar-Tal. "We support their just struggle.

Intensive negotiations have been underway for two months, and if it reaches a dead end and we do not reach agreements quickly, the chairman of the Histadrut will declare a labor dispute in the aid sector and wide-ranging organizational measures will be initiated.

" "Today the opening shot for our struggle began.

We will not be silent until there is a significant improvement in our wages immediately." The aides issued an ultimatum and said that "if by 7:00 p.m. we do not receive notification of the government's willingness to remove conditions and start negotiations from Sunday, classes will also be disrupted in schools in all cities in Israel, in all sectors. Not only Gardens. Both the Histadrut and the workers' unions have not proven to be an effective factor. The end of the month scares us more than any union or threat. The undersigned:

The municipality of Rosh Ha'Ein announced earlier today that "this morning, a very serious and unusual incident occurred. Following an illegal strike by the assistants, 41 kindergarten classes and five communication classes in the schools did not open today."

The municipality added that "a disproportionate harm was done this morning against parents and children who are not parties to the matter. The municipality's administration views these unilateral measures by the assistants with severity and will act with all the tools at its disposal. We call on all the assistants to report to work tomorrow in order to avoid damage to the regular activities of the educational institutions."

In Ramat Hasharon, according to the Histadrut, 40 kindergartens were not opened.

"I was surprised to find out like you this morning, both as a parent of a girl in kindergarten and as the mayor of the city, that in about twenty kindergartens in the city this morning dozens of helpers did not show up for their work when they reported illness," mayor Avi Gruber wrote to the parents. Explicitly given to help by a number of senior officials in the Histadrut Histadrut and the municipality's workers' committee.

"It is important for me to emphasize that, as mayor, I supported the assistants in particular and the teaching staff in general in their just struggle to improve their employment conditions and I acted on the matter with senior officials in the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of the Interior," he continued, "but it is not possible that the assistants sat down in such a wild manner and without any prior notice, seriously harming the public The parents. We are currently examining how we can take disciplinary action in the case of those striking helpers."
