The members of the protest group »Last Generation«, which blocked flight operations on the apron of the capital's airport BER on November 24, are to pay the costs of the large-scale deployment of the security forces they caused.
This emerges from the answer of the federal government to a written question from the member of the Bundestag Wilfried Oellers (CDU).
Accordingly, the federal police have already initiated appropriate fee procedures against all activists involved in the action.
The exact amount of the costs incurred is currently being determined.
CDU politician Oellers welcomes this: "Costs and damage caused by such actions at the expense of the population must be borne by those who caused them in each individual case - and not by the injured taxpayer." Lufthansa and the Berlin Airport Company had previously announced that Making claims for damages against activists of the »Last Generation«.
"We continue to pursue our claims," says Lufthansa.
In the meantime, there is an expert opinion »which assesses our claims for damages as promising«.
The BER operating company is also examining possible claims for damages - but first wants to wait for the result of the criminal investigation.
