The Minister of National Security and Chairman of Otzma Yehudit Itamar Ben Gvir visited the scene of the serious attack that took place last night (Friday) in Neve Yaakov in Jerusalem.
In the incident, seven civilians were murdered and at least three others were injured near the Aterat Avraham Synagogue in the neighborhood during Shabbat evening prayer. This is the first significant security incident. which takes place during the tenure of Ben Gabir, a month since the beginning of the term of the sixth Netanyahu government.

"We will respond with a heavy hand."

"I left the Shabbat table, my wife and the children to come here," he told the residents of the area who shouted at him calls of support and encouragement, along with calls of abuse.
The residents called to take a tough hand and respond to the incident harshly.

One of the eyewitnesses to the massacre turned to the minister in tears: "If only I had a weapon, I could have prevented more deaths in the attack", the minister replied with a hug and promised in front of the cameras a change in the civilian weapons policy.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu joined Ben Gabir and arrived at the scene of the event.
