The Student and Youth Council today (Friday) issued a scathing letter against the student protest behind which Yair Lapid's Yesh Atid party stands, as first published in Israel Hayom.
"Condemn the use of students and children as a tool in a party struggle."
Now, after the exposure, the chairman of the National Student and Youth Council, Ran Shay, comes out against the protest and against the cynical use of them as a tool for political struggles on behalf of.
In the letter he sent he wrote against the protest: "The student and youth councils strongly oppose the use of students and children as a tool in a partisan struggle. The councils, as an official, state body, elected and representative of all youth, do not stand behind this protest group."
In recent weeks, a campaign has been run on social media called the student protest, which calls for the return of the humanities baccalaureate reform, as well as opposing the appointment of Avi Maoz and the transfer of powers to him.
In "Israel Hayom" it was revealed that those behind the protest are teenagers who are active in the Yesh Atid party and have positions in the party.
It should be noted that the leaders of the protest from the Yesh Atid party are calling on the students to stop school this coming Sunday at 12 o'clock, and to strike in protest of the transfer of powers to Abi Maoz.
It should be noted that in practice Abi Ma'oz will not have far-reaching powers and that all external plans should go through a tender anyway.
