Five people died this Friday in an armed attack on a synagogue in
East Jerusalem

and three others were seriously injured by bullets, the Magen David Adom emergency services reported.
"Five deaths declared at the scene, three victims transported to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital, including a 70-year-old in critical condition, a 20-year-old in serious condition and a 14-year-old in moderate to severe condition," it said.
According to the police, the terrorist arrived by car at a building used as a synagogue in the neighborhood in the northern part of East Jerusalem and opened fire.

Officers called the scene and shot the gunman, police said.
A firearm apparently used in the attack was seized.
The Magen David Adom emergency service said his doctors declared five victims dead at the scene.
Three other victims, a woman in her 70s in critical condition, a 20-year-old man in serious condition, and a 14-year-old boy in moderate to serious condition, were taken to Hadassah Mount Scopus hospital.
Dozens of officers were dispatched to the scene, police said.
Jerusalem District Police Commander Doron Turgeman was also at the scene to conduct an assessment with the officers, the police added.
Hebrew-language media reports said police were looking for possible additional suspects who may have assisted the attacker.
