Will Grenoble be the refuge of the D'Clic association and its controversial Muslim conference?
Driven out of several cities in recent weeks, the organizers of an event on Islam are trying to settle this Sunday, January 29 in the city of Isère, despite strong local and political opposition.
The RN deputy for Isère Alexis Jolly thus announced on Wednesday that he had written to the Ministry of the Interior and to the prefect of the department to have the demonstration banned: “
These preachers advocate violence against women, polygamy, or even superiority of Islam over the Republic
", he declared.
The president of the Reconquest!
Eric Zemmour evoked particularly violent sermons and asked the question: “
Do we really want an imam to be able to glorify jihad
in the aftermath of Islamic attacks in Europe?
".
In its wake, many local activists demanded action to prevent the conference from taking place.

At the beginning of January, the association had tried to hold it in the town of Cabannes, in the Bouches-du-Rhône.
The Reconquest party!
had launched several actions to obtain the cancellation of the day. After several adventures, the organization of the event had given up after the refusal of a room renter.

The controversy has therefore resumed since the beginning of the week, again mainly because of the guests.
This Sunday, the first guest is Imam "
Ismaïl
", from Marseille.
With a certain influence with his own "
blueberry institute
", and followed by more than 120,000 people on Facebook, the latter had made himself known in recent months by a controversy: he had affirmed in a filmed sermon that abandoning prayer Islam was more serious than committing murder.
In a video, the one that Eric Zemmour took over, he declares that "
when you did not get up this morning at prayer [...], tell yourself that this sin, the sahabas asked themselves the question: is it the greatest sin that does not not leave Islam, more serious than having killed a hundred people, than having consumed alcohol [...] than having started I don't know how many wars?
".
He added: "
Allah tells us, even when you are at war, and the sword passes over your heads, you perform the prayer in this way
".
He had confirmed his position in a tweet, since deleted.
The other guest is Nader Abou Anas, also very influential on the networks, with 706,000 subscribers on Youtube.
He became known for saying that “
men have authority over women.
The virtuous woman obeys her husband, [...] does not leave her house except by her husband's permission
" and she must know that "
the angels curse her all night if she refuses her husband
" .
Remarks unearthed and publicized by the activist Damien Rieu, member of the Reconquête! party.
Finally, the columnist Feïza Ben Mohamed is also announced: representative of the Turkish press agency Anadolu, she claims to be a specialist in questions of Islamophobia.

On the website of the association organizing the conference, there is no direct reference to Islam: D'Clic says it works for the "
common good
" and says "
to act throughout France but also elsewhere, in order to bring our dynamism , our determination
.
But between the social and humanist missions put forward, objectives such as the "
monitoring of converts
", or the "
creation of a sheep slaughterhouse
".

Finally, the choice of the city of Grenoble is not due to chance: the city has experienced several controversies concerning the place of Islam in public life, in particular in May 2022 when the mayor Éric Piolle (EELV) decided to authorize the "
burkini
" in municipal swimming pools.
A position fought by the State, which had in return canceled the authorization by prefectural decision.
