The 2023 edition of Nuits Sonores marks both two decades of existence, the end of health restrictions and the last year on the Fagor-Brandt site. With always the ambition to position itself as the annual high mass of the electro scene.

The Nuits sonores festival will celebrate its two decades of existence in the spring with the return of the pre-covid format, made up of endless nights in the old Fagor-Brandt factories and days of dancing all over Lyon.

In short, the annual high mass of the electro scene with prices revised slightly upwards, but as always scheduled for the Ascension weekend, which had brought together more than 130,000 spectators in 2019.

The “Days”, free daytime events, are back and are scheduled at the Sucrière, where a vertical space will allow festival-goers to stroll from the floor of the 1930 room to the rooftop of the Sucre.

The well-known club of Lyonnais will host more intimate events until the early morning.

The Pointe de la Confluence will be honored with a new stage this year on the neighboring dance floor of the Azar Club.

New stage also at Les Subsistances, going up the Saône a few kilometers, where the American duo Darkside will make the site's glass roof resonate for a four-night mini-residence, from May 17 to 20.

Electro High Mass at Fagor-Brandt

It is of course the "monostage" site of the old Fagor-Brandt factories that will attract the most festival-goers after dark.

Moderat and Caterina Barbieri on the first evening, then Red Axes and Jennifer Caridini on the second, Anetha and Marcel Dettamn on the third and finally The Blessed Madona;

will, among other things, wiggle the spectators.

The latter will have to pay 29 to 33 euros per evening and 33 to 37 per day.

Among the 170 artists of 26 nationalities invited, some will obviously attract the light of the stromboscopes a little more.

This is the case of the outstanding showman Chilly Gonzales, capable of filling the philharmonic halls of the whole world in a bathrobe like collaborating with Daft Punk for the best album of the year (Grammy awards), who will ignite the great hall of the Auditorium on May 21.

XXL performance also for Laurent Garnier, true godfather of the NS and

"undisputed record holder for the artist who played the most at the festival"

, who will have the honor of closing the festival with an 8-hour show in four locations!

The Confluence as a new anchor point

And since it is a question of regional stage, the Arty Farty collective, in charge of the Nuits sonores since their creation, intends to dig the furrow of the local collectives.

The large hall H7 at the Confluence will be dedicated to them in the evening (11 p.m. to 5 a.m.) with performances by Garçon Sauvage, Art jacking or Polaar.

On the same site, the HEAT dining hall will host the "mini sound" program dedicated to families and children, while Hotel 71, Arty farty's headquarters will be devoted to conferences and meetings.

What to anchor the festival definitively at the tip of the Confluence, before the relocation of the main stage next year, just on the other bank of the Saône, at La Mulatière, the Fagor-Brandt site to become a warehouse for trams .
