The violence in the Negev:
last night (Thursday) unknown persons burned the car of the interior auditor of the Al Qsum Council in the Negev, Ali Dabsan.
The car was set on fire near the visitor's house.
The current incident joins a long series of severe violent incidents directed against the head of the council, Salama Al Atrash, the council's senior officials and its employees.
The events began with the attack on the previous CEO of the council, Eyal Nazri, about two years ago, when unknown men wearing socks beat him while he served on the council.
Nazri left the public service immediately after the attack.
Since then, there have been several break-ins to the council's offices, acts of serious vandalism of equipment and threats to the head of the council and the council's CEO. About six months ago, the car of a social worker in the settlement was set on fire. In addition, about two months ago, unknown people drilled into the door of Salama's office in the form of gunshot marks and left a warning.
So far, despite the complaints submitted to the police, the police have not been able to lay hands on the perpetrators.
The police claim that it is a conflict between Berhat families.
The head of Al Kassum Council, Salama Al Atrash, said after the incident: "It is unthinkable that the council's offices located in the heart of Be'er Sheva are attacked on a monthly basis and the police do not work to arrest the attackers and ensure that they are punished. According to him, the council's employees feel abandoned by the police, who are unable to locate the the attackers".
