The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the armed attack at the entrance to the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Tehran.
“The political and security authorities in the country ordered an investigation into the matter directly, and the police and security forces intervened immediately and arrested the perpetrator, who is currently being interrogated, and the results of the preliminary investigations indicate personal motives behind the attack,” IRNA news agency quoted Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani as saying today. .
He stressed that the media should avoid publishing unreliable news and speculation, expressing condolences to the government and people of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the victims of this attack.
And the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced earlier today the killing of the head of the security service at its embassy in the Iranian capital, Tehran, after the embassy headquarters was subjected to an armed attack.
