The words of the then Princess of Wales can be read on the Kensington Palace stationery, autographed by Diana on Instagram: "Dear Alexandra, Thank you for inviting me to be guest editor of British
Vogue
's Christmas edition.
I'm very touched that you asked me, but knowing I could never match your mastery of this job, I think it would be best (for everyone!) if I decline.
