Nantes: a hotel catches fire, 140 people evacuated including nearly 80 CRS who were staying there

A fire broke out this Friday around 4:30 a.m. in a 257-room hotel in Nantes. No serious injuries are to be reported.

The fire started in a room on the second floor of a hotel located rue du chemin rouge in the Beaujoire district of Nantes.

It could have been triggered by a charging device according to the first elements collected.

Alerted shortly before 4:30 a.m., on the night of Thursday to Friday, the emergency services set up an important system to contain the flames and secure the occupants of the site which has three floors and 257 rooms.

Two slightly injured

In total,

"140 people were evacuated including a company of 78 CRS"

, indicates the departmental operational center for fire and rescue (Codis).

The firefighters specify that

“six rescues”

were carried out and

“23 people gathered in the hall”

of the site.

Among them, about fifteen people bothered by the release of smoke were examined.

Two victims were slightly injured: a 57-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman.

No serious injuries are to be reported.

The room from which the fire broke out is completely destroyed.

The emergency response mobilized more than fifty people and around ten vehicles.
