Everyone wants to be treated with respect.

A survey has now filtered out the ten cities in Germany in which this is apparently not maintained.

There is also a place in Baden-Württemberg that impresses with rudeness.

Stuttgart - Every city in the world has its own special features and characteristics to offer - whether positive or negative.

The image that one has of people who live in metropolises is often closely linked to clichés.

People say about Munich residents, for example, that they are conceited, that they are citizens of the Ruhr area directly, or that Swabians are extremely frugal.

Newcomers in particular can have a hard time with the characteristics of a city at first.

But which big city is the rudest?

A survey by

Preply

, a foreign language learning platform, now sheds some light on the matter.

For this purpose, the British market research company Censuswide asked more than 1,500 residents in the 20 largest cities in Germany where and how often they observed impolite behavior.

One of the rudest cities in Germany is even in Baden-Württemberg, reports BW24.

Stuttgart is one of the rudest and stingiest cities in Germany

Finally, the evaluated data was presented in a ranking.

The result: Essen (1st place), Dresden (2nd place) and Frankfurt (3rd place) are in the top three places for the rudest cities in Germany.

The Baden-Württemberg state capital Stuttgart also made it into the top ten of the unfriendliest cities with eighth place.

This was determined, among other things, by the criteria that many in the Swabian metropolis were busy using their mobile phones in public, would not pay attention to strangers or had a particularly reserved body language.

The city of Stuttgart is also associated with another negative characteristic: stinginess.

In the list of the most generous cities, the Swabians take the penultimate place, because the average tip here is 7.11 percent.

Only in Dresden are people even more stingy with an average of 7.07 percent.

But of course Stuttgart also has a lot of good things to offer.

Last year it was one of the ten cities with the best prospects for the future (6th place).

Bochum is the most polite and Bremen the most generous city in Germany

On the other hand, if you want to go to the politest city in Germany, you have to go to Bochum in the Ruhr area.

According to the survey, it takes first place, followed by Bremen and Hanover.

The citizens of the Hanseatic City of Bremen are also the most generous and give an average tip of 9.80 percent.

Another city from the southwest cannot be found in the survey.

However, Baden-Württemberg can adorn itself with another undesired title: Reddit users voted Pforzheim the ugliest city in Germany.
