In Amiens, we know the Gothic-style cathedral, the many canals dotted with floating gardens, which cross the city and which earned it its nickname of "little Venice of the North" or even Jean-Pierre Pernault, the former presenter of the JT of 8 p.m. from TF1, native of Amiens and died almost a year ago.
But what is said less is that the capital of Picardy has more than 30,000 students.
That is about 20% of the total population (outside the urban area) made up of two-thirds of tenants.
Amiens was even elected European Youth Capital in 2020. To date, it is the only French city to have received this distinction created in 2009 by the European Youth Forum.
Enough to attract investors who can also count on the proximity of Amiens to Paris (1h30 by TGV).
