The Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technologies and Media “Ross Komnadzor” blocked the websites of the CIA and the FBI.
And the TASS news agency quoted the department as saying in a statement: It decided this because these institutions published misleading news, as it was found in them that materials contain inaccurate information of social importance as well as defaming the reputation of the Russian armed forces.
The department also banned a number of other foreign websites for publishing material containing important, unreliable public information, and material aimed at destabilizing the country's social and political stability.
