Ryabkov: Dialogue with Washington on arms control is linked to agreement on the principles of coexistence

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov confirmed that the resumption of dialogue with the United States on arms control is conditional on agreement on the principles of coexistence that reduce the possibility of conflict.

"As a result of Washington's actions, the issue of arms control has become a hostage to the deep and comprehensive deterioration of our bilateral relations," Ryabkov was quoted as saying by the RIA Novosti agency.

Ryabkov explained that the brutal aggressiveness of the United States, which seeks to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia in the hybrid comprehensive war launched by Washington, made it impossible to take constructive and fruitful steps with it to limit arms, adding: “But that does not mean, of course, that we give up efforts to control arms.”
