For the second day in a row, the activities of the workshop held by the Ministry of Education in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Aga Khan Development Network, under the title “Transforming Education.. an Urgent Necessity for Our Common Future”, are continuing with the participation of the deans of the College of Education, Arts and Sciences, the relevant specialist mentors and directors of education in the governorates. .
The participants in the three-day workshop, held at the Cham Hotel in Damascus, will discuss several axes on rethinking the goal and content of education in the twenty-first century, the need to transform education systems to meet higher purposes, harness the digital revolution for the benefit of public education, and invest more equitably and efficiently in education to reach a state of A future action plan on this, which will reflect positively on society and develop cooperation skills, problem-solving and overcoming crises to come up with appropriate solutions.
The workshop, which started its activities yesterday, comes in implementation of the recommendations of the Education Transformation Summit that was held in New York with the participation of Syria during the period between the 16th and 19th of last September, with the aim of enhancing harmony between the requirements of the educational process in terms of teachers’ competencies and skills on the one hand, and the academic preparation of teachers at the university level on the one hand. And the need to develop a joint action plan for cooperation between the Ministries of Education and Higher Education and Scientific Research.
