At 12:30 noon on the sixth day of the Lunar New Year (27th), an old man was driving in the direction of Choi Hung on Kwun Tong Road, Ngau Tau Kok, on electric wheels.
The police arrived at the scene and quickly intercepted the wheelchair man. They are currently investigating and found wandering people.
A driver uploaded a car CAM video on the Internet. It can be seen that the man was driving an electric wheelchair and was traveling west along Kwun Tong Road.

According to the current law, electric wheelchairs are not vehicles. If citizens use electric wheelchairs improperly on sidewalks or roads, causing danger to other road users, they may violate the relevant laws.
Under the Summary Offenses Ordinance, any person who, without lawful authority or manifest need, drives on a pavement, or drives recklessly or negligently in a public place; and or does any conduct which damages or hinders a public place, transport or traffic, They may be guilty of "driving or riding on pedestrian roads" or "causing damage to public places/waterways/transportation/traffic/obstruction". Upon conviction, they may be sentenced to 3 months' imprisonment or a fine of 2,000 yuan.
The police remind the public that electric wheelchairs are a means of transportation for some disabled people and the elderly, and they should not be abused.
