The Preparatory Committee for the Arab and International Popular Campaign to Lift the Siege on Syria announced that it will prepare a full and comprehensive scientific study on the effects of the Western blockade on Syria, which will be a document condemning the US administration for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

During today's video meeting, the committee called on the Arab Lawyers Union, the Union of Arab Jurists, and all human rights and human rights organizations to study the possibility of prosecuting the American administration for genocide and war crimes against humanity before the international judiciary.

The committee decided to prepare a message for many parliamentary, popular, trade union and partisan bodies, including presenting the serious effects of the blockade imposed on Syria in all economic, social, health, educational and cultural aspects, and communicating with friendly media organizations in order to participate in this campaign in the manner it deems appropriate.

The meeting mandated the members of the committee to form committees to lift the blockade in the Arab countries, starting with the personalities who took the initiative to respond to the campaign, as well as the parties, trade unions and popular organizations wishing to participate in this campaign.

The participants in the meeting agreed to participate in the session devoted to the situation in Syria, which will be held by the Human Rights Council in Geneva on February 21, through a joint intervention between the campaign and the International Council for the Support of Fair Trial and Human Rights.

The Committee welcomed the convening of the Arab Youth Forum in Solidarity with Syria next February in Damascus, which is being held in cooperation with the National Union of Syrian Students and the Revolutionary Youth Union in Syria.

The Committee called for dealing positively with all initiatives aiming to form a global front to confront the blockade against the peoples of the world, to participate in any initiative that takes this direction, and to focus on the fact that the damages of this blockade include not only Syria, but also all neighboring countries, especially Lebanon, which suffers from the repercussions of the laws of The blockade on Syria, especially in terms of energy and oil derivatives.

The participants in the committee meeting decided to follow up the contacts to hold the Arab International Forum to lift the siege on Syria in Damascus, Beirut or any Arab capital, after the necessary conditions and capabilities are available, stressing that this campaign is an accumulated work that should expand to include the entire Arab world and the free people of the world to participate in it. all continents.

In turn, the campaign coordinator, the former Secretary-General of the Arab National Congress, Majdi Al-Maasrawi, announced that the number of those who responded to the popular campaign to lift the siege on Syria reached 210 participants during the month, and they belong to all countries of the nation and to the six continents of the world, and the messages of solidarity are still continuing.

Al-Maasrawi saw this response as an expression of the widening campaigns of objection and denunciation of the unjust American blockade on Syria, which also affects Lebanon and many neighboring countries.
