Comedian and TV host Jay Leno is recovering from last week's motorcycle accident that left him with broken bones, just months after suffering severe burns in a fire in the garage of his Los Angeles home.

Speaking to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the comedian and talk show host revealed that on January 17 he fell from his motorcycle in an incident that left him with a

broken clavicle, two broken ribs and two fractured kneecaps.

"But I'm fine!"

said Leno, 72.

"I'm fine, I'm working.

I will be working this weekend, ”he insisted.

The comedian reportedly said he had yet to speak publicly about the motorcycle accident due to the overwhelming coverage of his recovery from the burns he sustained in November.

Leno suffered severe burns to his hands and chest and third-degree burns to his face after his vintage car went up in flames on November 12 in his Los Angeles garage.

In an exclusive interview on NBC News'

TODAY

show, Leno said he had been working on his vintage 1907 White Motor Co. steam car with a friend when he noticed the vehicle's fuel line was clogged.

Leno said that he had gotten under the vehicle to try and fix it.

“I told him: Blow some air through the duct […] and all of a sudden, boom, my face was covered in gasoline.

And then the pilot jumped and my face burned, ”he recalled.

“My friend pulled me out and jumped on me to put out the fire,” Leno recounted.

Leno has an estimated 180 cars and 160 motorcycles in his garage adjacent to the Hollywood Burbank airport, according to the duPont Registry, a marketplace and publication for collectors of rare and classic vehicles.

The comedian was taken by ambulance to a hospital and then sent to the Grossman Burn Center in Los Angeles, where he received hyperbaric treatment, an oxygen therapy that "may speed healing of burn wounds," according to the Grossman Burn Center website. .

Despite the severity of his injuries, Leno returned to stand-up comedy within weeks of the incident.
