Yvelines: arrest of four individuals accused of car-jacking

They are suspected of having raged at various points in Ile-de-France.

Tuesday, January 24, four individuals were arrested in Trappes, in the Yvelines, suspected of being the perpetrators of violent vehicle thefts, learned

from the Versailles prosecutor's office, confirming information from

A simulated accident on a national

The case that allowed their identification dates back to February 14, 2022, on national road 10, in Trappes.

The team is divided into two: three are in a car, the fourth on a two-wheeler.

The set follows a Renault Trafic until the driver of the scooter simulates a fall on the road.

The victim then stops his van, gets out of his vehicle to help the supposedly injured.

One of the accomplices then took the opportunity to board the van and flee.

The victim tried to cling to his Renault Trafic, but was dragged several meters on the ground before falling on the road in full traffic.

The van was found two days later in Plaisir (Yvelines), with on board equipment stolen from a construction site in Ville-d'Avray (Hauts-de-Seine), according to

The thugs' scooter, which was under police surveillance, was parked right next to it.

The Versailles prosecutor's office confirms to

that the defendants are also suspected of a theft in a meeting in the 18th arrondissement of Paris on December 29, 2021 and of a second vehicle theft with the same procedure in Vélizy-Villacoublay, on February 13, 2022.

Identities through DNA and telephony

According to the Actu site, the authorities identified and then arrested the four individuals thanks to telephone records as well as traces of DNA.

Placed in police custody, they acknowledged their presence on the national 10 but denied their participation in the facts.

Following their presentation to a judge, they asked for time to prepare their defense and were placed in pre-trial detention pending their appearance before the criminal court on March 1.

According to information from our colleagues, the minor was summoned before a juvenile judge.
