The Russian Foreign Ministry called on the German government to define its position on the war in Ukraine, and not to make contradictory statements in this regard.
“The German Foreign Minister announces that her country, along with other countries, is in a state of war with Russia, and at the same time this same ministry does not consider her country a party to the conflict in Ukraine,” TASS news agency quoted Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the ministry, as saying on her Telegram channel.
And the German Foreign Ministry said in a statement: Providing support to the Kyiv authorities “does not make Germany a party to the conflict in Ukraine,” refuting a previous statement by Foreign Minister Analina Berbock at a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, in which she said: “Germany is at war.” Already with Russia.
Zakharova commented, saying: “Taking into account these contradictory statements, the German ambassador to Russia must clarify them and explain this apparent confusion in the German position.”
