Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was fully and completely involved in the Ukrainian conflict, pointing out that the confrontation between Russia and NATO is escalating.
Zakharova said in a press conference today: NATO officials, including the Secretary General, are trying to deceive the European people through their statements that the alliance is not a party to the Ukrainian conflict, while the reality proves that they are directly participating in this conflict.
Zakharova pointed out that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced earlier his intention to use NATO weapons to strike Moscow, Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and other Russian cities, in further evidence of the West's intention to raise the stakes in the conflict, which leads to prolongation and increased loss of life.
Zakharova stressed that the meeting of the so-called contact group to support Ukraine affiliated with NATO at the American Ramstein base in Berlin is another evidence of the West's complete irresponsibility and its desire to escalate the conflict, noting that the West does not care at all about the fate of anyone on Ukrainian soil.
Zakharova indicated that providing Ukraine with Western tanks will not change the situation, but it will bring the confrontation between the West and Russia to a new level, pointing out that the Kyiv regime bears full responsibility for undermining the negotiation process with Moscow.
