Russian astronomer Gennady Borisov said: The international scientific community has recognized that the asteroid “YG 2022”, which was seen for the first time last month, is a new quasi-moon belonging to Earth.
And the Novosti agency quoted Borisov as saying: On the 15th of last December, he was able to discover a quasi-moon belonging to Earth, the asteroid “YG 2022”, indicating that its size is approximately 20 to 30 meters, and its cycle period around the sun is one year.
Borisov added: In total, 6 to 7 quasi-moons of Earth have been discovered so far, and they were all captured at a certain time by the gravitational field of our planet.
It is noteworthy that Borisov, an astronomer from Crimea, discovered in 2019 the first comet between two stars so far in history, and he bears his name.
