Two people were shot today (Saturday) in the second shooting attack in the past day, which took place in the Ma'alot City of David in Jerusalem.
MDA teams that arrived at the scene are providing medical treatment to the wounded, including a 22-year-old man in serious condition, and a 45-year-old man in moderate to serious condition, with both suffering from gunshot wounds to their upper bodies.
The incident comes against the backdrop of the deadly attack that took place yesterday in the Neve Ya'akov neighborhood of Jerusalem, in which seven people were murdered , including the couple Eli and Natalie Mizrachi, and another two were injured. The attack was carried out by Hayeri Alkam, 21 years old from East Jerusalem, who has a blue ID card. At 8:15 p.m. Alkam arrived at the synagogue on Neve Ya'akov Boulevard in Jerusalem. The terrorist opened fire, hit several people, and ran away to his car and drove towards Beit Hanina. After a few minutes, police forces arrived at the scene and at the end of a shootout they killed the terrorist.

Officials in the security system warn of the possibility that following the serious attack in Jerusalem, extreme right-wing activists will carry out acts of revenge against Palestinians in Judea and Samaria.
One of the officials said a short time ago, "When the Prime Minister called yesterday in the field not to take the law into one's hands, it was not based on a feeling. There is a very great fear of an action that will set the area on fire. The security establishment is aware of this. We are working on the issue, and therefore it was decided to increase the points of friction between Palestinians as well for the Jews in Yosh and Otaf".
