The Secretary of State rejected a demand by Jewish organizations for American intervention in the legal reform • "Let's see how it ends"

The US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, recently said in a conversation with Jewish leaders in the country that the widespread demonstrations in Israel against the government's moves regarding legal reform express the democratic nature of the country.

The American official noted that "what is happening in Israel is that we are seeing democracy in action. They are fighting over important issues, as democracies do. Let's see how it ends."

Blinken is scheduled to land the day after tomorrow (Monday) in Israel, as part of a hopping trip he is conducting in the Middle East.

During his stay here, he is expected to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Foreign Minister Eli Cohen and other senior officials.

During his visit, Lincoln is expected to give the Prime Minister an invitation to a meeting with US President Joe Biden, which will take place in a few weeks.

Before leaving for our region, the Secretary of State spoke at the weekend with the heads of pro-Israel organizations in the US, and presented his positions on the various issues that are on the agenda.

Some of the heads of the organizations urged Blinken to put pressure on the Israeli government to stop the planned legal reform, but the American minister refused to do so.

He even noted that the protest in Israel reminds him of similar large-scale demonstrations across the US on controversial issues in the public.
