Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban expressed his country's opposition to Germany's decision to send heavy weapons, particularly tanks, to Ukraine.
Tass quoted Orban as saying in a statement today: “Such measures bring the Germans closer to direct participation in the conflict.” Tanks, planes are being talked about.”
And the Hungarian Prime Minister considered that “the Germans are drifting towards war step by step,” explaining that “since the beginning of the conflict in neighboring Ukraine, Hungary warned that it would not supply the Ukrainian army with weapons because it wanted peace.”
Germany had announced its intention to supply Ukraine with 14 Leopard 2 tanks, and to allow other countries to provide Kyiv with tanks of the same type from their own arsenals.
