Quneitra - SANA
The governorate of Quneitra, in cooperation with the General Electricity Company, has started the work of the second phase of the main road lighting project with solar energy.
And the Deputy Governor of Quneitra, Ahmed Jumaa, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that 522 lighting devices that operate on solar energy will be installed, as 65 devices are currently being installed to light the Damascus-Quneitra public road with solar energy, starting from the old governorate building to the roundabout of the town of Kom al-Waisiya at the eastern entrance to the governorate. This is within the governorate’s plan to rely on alternative energy, in cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Local Administration.
It is noteworthy that the Quneitra governorate installed 396 lighting devices that operate on solar energy in the city of Al-Baath in its residential and service neighbourhoods, and the towns of Khan Arnabah, Bir Ajam, Brega, Al-Qahtaniya and Nabe' Al-Sakhr last year.
