(ANSA) - ROME, 28 JAN - The Network of High School Students of Lazio presented today in Rome, at the City of the Other Economy, the Student Manifesto with more than forty proposals to candidates for the Regional Council.
Right to study, youth culture and policies, spaces, school-work, environment, transport, mental health and inclusiveness: these are the eight topics on which the student document focuses.
"In this document we want to summarize the priorities of our generation in Lazio in view of the next regional elections" explained by the High School Student Network.
"We want to build a Region in which to study, live and work. We then decided to talk about 'The Region we deserve' because we want to overturn the concept whereby merit is a selection of excellence and build a merit which means seeing the rights recognized everyone should have in a society of free and equals. Only by guaranteeing everyone the same tools and possibilities can we speak of merit".
The student union calls for a commitment, from presidential candidates and councilor candidates, for an open and universally accessible public school, for a real and free right to study, for functional and free public transport for those who study, for extraordinary investments in school buildings, for the approval of alias careers and other measures that allow everyone to experience freedom in school and to be themselves every day, for the creation of psychological assistance desks in all schools.
