A No. 3 alarm fire broke out in San Po Kong this morning (28th) at around 5:00 am. A fire broke out in a warehouse on the 9th floor of Wing Hin Factory Building on Ng Fong Street. The fire area was huge and contained a large number of electronic components. The fire spread to the outer wall of the building Frame, thick smoke swept through the air, burning for 12 hours and still not extinguished.

Firefighters found that the building's manual fire alarm system was inoperative.

During the fire fighting, an explosion and backfire occurred at the fire site, and it was necessary to evacuate and redeploy. Then two aerial ladder water towers were deployed to cool down the outer wall with sprinklers.

As the fire site is still under fire and the cause of the fire is still under investigation, the fire department will conduct an investigation after the fire is extinguished, and the Buildings Department will also conduct investigations to ensure the safety and security of the scaffolding.

A large number of electronic parts were stored on the fire site, and thick smoke was once exploded and backfired

Chen Fushan, senior fire department chief of the Fire Services Department, said that the Fire Services Department received a report at 5:17 a.m. that a fire broke out in a factory building at No. 226-228 Choi Hung Road. The fire site was located in a warehouse on the 9th floor of the building, with an area of 20 meters by 20 meters , The isolation unit was also slightly affected.

Firefighters arrived at the scene 5 minutes later.

Due to the storage of a large number of electronic parts and plastic accessories in the burning warehouse, the fire became more violent and heated up, and the smoke was dense, making fire rescue more difficult.

During the firefighting period, the fire scene exploded and flashed back. The firefighters had to evacuate and redeploy for a while, and extra manpower was used for rescue. At 8:53 a.m., the fire alarm was raised to level three.

In addition, the exterior wall of the building is undergoing major repairs, scaffolding and protective nets are being erected, which will increase the difficulty of firefighting in the periphery and prevent the smoke from dispersing from the fire.

By noon, firefighters continued to spray water on the fire.
