The Regional Council of Piedmont, also through the Regional Committee for the affirmation of the values of the Resistance and the principles of the Republican Constitution, participates in and supports the initiatives for the Day of Remembrance, established by law in 2000. Numerous events have been promoted up to 31 December in particular with the Polo del '900: from the testimonies, told through meetings or shows, to music, books and films.
Among the appointments of these days, the one with Lidia Maksymowicz, a survivor of Auschwitz, who, connected from Krakow, spoke to the students of the Jewish school and to the student ambassadors of the Regional Council.
The day of 27 January was also dedicated to the youngest with live radio broadcasting on Tradiradio with the participation of some Piedmontese students and screenings dedicated to schools.

Allasia and Valle said they were "convinced that memory is the real antidote that can prevent history from turning into a perennial return of macabre horrors. But to remember the victims it is not enough - they underlined -. We need to carry on a constant and concrete institutional, cultural and educational commitment against all the enemies of democracy, fanaticism, intolerance, racism and old and new anti-Semitisms A commitment that also requires new languages to involve the younger generations, who are the most exposed to attempts to rewrite and falsify history. In this perspective we strongly wanted the national premiere of the 'Lechaim' concert. In these gloomy times in which the winds of war have returned to blow in the heart of Europe - concluded Allasia and Valle -,Remembrance Day requires us to commit ourselves to peace, justice and freedom".
