Ten years separate the release of

The Last of Us

game on Playstation and the broadcast of its series adaptation on Prime Video.

And it's a winning bet for the platform, which already has a viewing record.

Indeed, the first episode attracted 4.7 million people, fans of the original game or simply curious.

Loyalty seems to be setting in, as the second episode does better than the pilot with 5.7 million viewers, an increase of 22% in viewing.

And this success also benefits video game developer Naughty Dog.

Indeed, in the United Kingdom, the remake of

The Last of Us I

, released in September 2022 on Playstation 5, saw its sales jump by 238% in just one week.

The original game was released in 2013. Those of the remastered version for the Playstation 4 have increased by 322%.

Note that these figures only include physical sales.

The game is also available in a dematerialized version on the Playstation Store, which also boosts these already very impressive scores.

In France, the figures have not yet been communicated.

A season 2 already ordered

The Last of Us

is worn by actor Pedro Pascal, unforgettable Oberyn Martell in

Game of Thrones

.

He gives the reply to another recruit of the series adapted from the books of George RR Martin, Bella Ramsey.

Together, they form the hero duo trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic world, after an epidemic that has brought civilization down.

Also in the cast is Anna Torv from another sci-fi series,

Fringe

.

Unlike

The Walking Dead

, the origin of the disease is explained by the spread of the parasitic fungus Cordyceps.

The first season has nine episodes and HBO has already confirmed the production of a second season.
