The annual "HSBC Doing Business" award program targeting small and medium-sized enterprises aims to reward companies with outstanding performance in "Environmental, Social and Governance" (ESG) and "Sustainable Development Goals" (SDGs). Local businesses set an example.

The award presentation ceremony of the 2022 annual award program was successfully held on the 16th of this month, and the winners of each award were successfully born.


"HSBC Doing Business" was established in 2004 and organized by HSBC. Partner organizations include the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, Business Environment Council Limited, and Sustainable Square, the Center for Civil Society and Governance Research of the University of Hong Kong.

This award scheme aims to promote and encourage local SMEs to integrate ESG and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals into their daily operations, so as to enhance their competitiveness and productivity. More than 5,500 Hong Kong SMEs have participated in the program.

Themed on the three United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

The theme of "HSBC Doing Business 2022" is based on three United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including "Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being", "Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure" and "Goal 17: Sustainable Development Goals to Achieve the Goals". Partnerships".

This year's award scheme has two award categories: the Sustainable Development Goals Award, which recognizes SMEs for implementing outstanding measures in line with selected SDG themes; the Environmental, Social and Governance Award, which assesses SMEs' environmental, social and and governance performance.

Hong Kong's economic transition to low-carbon sustainable development is crucial

The award ceremony was held at the HSBC Headquarters Building on the 16th of this month. More than 120 companies were commended for actively practicing sustainable business practices that are socially and environmentally responsible.
