An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale struck the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, without reports of material or human losses.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department stated that the earthquake was at a depth of 150 km, and shook parts of the Pakistani capital.
Several local news channels quoted civilians as saying: The tremors were very strong.
Pakistan is one of the most earthquake-prone regions in the world, as it sits on top of the Eurasian tectonic plates which are known to be subject to frequent seismic activity.
