Three women were killed at a party at a luxury home near Beverly Hills on Saturday morning.

The bodies of the victims were found in a car in front of the house, a police officer told the Los Angeles Times.

Four people were wounded and two are in critical condition.

The police warned on Twitter that it was not an active threat.

The house, which is being offered for short-term rental, is located in Benedict Canyon, one of the poshest areas of the metropolis in the US state of California.

Several houses in the neighborhood are listed on Airbnb.

An overnight stay in the area costs several hundred to several thousand euros.

Car with bullet holes on both sides

Neighbors told police they saw cars pulling away from the scene within minutes of the shooting Saturday morning, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Authorities towed away a black Mazda SUV on Saturday afternoon.

The car had bullet holes on both sides and in the passenger side window.

Investigators assume a shootout.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the women shot were in their mid-20s to early 30s.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass commented on the incident on Twitter.

"This is the eleventh mass shooting in the United States and fourth in California this week."

Thoughts and prayers are not enough, one must act.

In California, some bloody crimes with a total of 18 deaths had occurred in the past few days.

On Monday, a man shot dead seven people on two farms near Half Moon Bay.

Two days earlier, an assailant shot at a dance club in Monterey Park.

Eleven people were killed.

There have also been gun deaths in other US states, including Utah and Iowa, since the beginning of the year.
