Palestinians were recorded today (Sunday) robbing an ancient cave in the Sebastia area, unimpeded, because the place is in Area B, under Palestinian civilian control.
Dov Katz, a resident of Yitzhar, documented how the Palestinians carry out illegal and unsupervised excavation work in the cave.
Following complaints, the manager's men arrived at the scene and arrested the robbers, discovering to their astonishment that the robbers were busy displacing thousands of years old sarcophagi.

"We are being robbed of our history. Antiquities are being robbed in Sebastia at this moment," Katz reported.
"The cave was discovered during the work of opening an axis. The place is 100 meters inside area B. The photos are from the moment, and the robbery is continuing in broad daylight at these moments," he wrote in the early afternoon.
Right-wing activist Zvi Sukot, who is expected to enter the Knesset under the Norwegian law, said that "In Sebastia, the kings of Israel are buried. At this very moment, Arabs are robbing an ancient and magnificent burial cave that was discovered there. There is a reasonable chance that right now they are looting an ancient glosskama of one of the kings of Israel."

Following the reports, the head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, appealed to the IDF High Command and demanded that they immediately enter and arrest the bandits. The Samaria Brigade jumped to the scene together with the Civil Administration's Archeology Command
To their astonishment, the security forces discovered that the robbers had uncovered ancient tombs under ancient Samaria, containing thousand-year-old sarcophagi that they were busy displacing.
The security forces arrested the robbers on the spot.
The head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, praised the security forces and the civil administration for their quick and accurate response and said: "This is one of the most important historical and archaeological sites in the State of Israel, which is nothing short of derelict. A single relic of the ancient kingdom of Israel and the palace of the kings of Israel. We thank the security forces of the Samaria General for the activity The quick, however, answer would only be to place a permanent military force to protect the national park.
Otherwise, very quickly the State of Israel will lose a historical site of global value, and of tremendous value to the Jewish people."
