Six people were killed and three seriously injured in Louisville, New York, after an accident Saturday involving a freight truck and an express bus, according to the New York State Police.
Police responded to the fatal crash on State Highway 37 around 6:02 am The Lawrence County Medical Examiner also responded to the scene.
All the victims were traveling aboard the express bus, police said in a news release.
Of the three injured, one is in critical condition and two are "seriously injured."

The victims were transported to local hospitals.
“State Route 37 from County Route 14 to Coles Creek Road in Louisville, St. Lawrence Co., is closed until further notice due to a fatal crash involving a bus and truck,” state police tweeted Saturday. .
A photo of the truck taken by local television station WWNY shows the truck standing on the side of the wrecked snowy road out front, in a scene officers described as "grotesque."

The aforementioned medium indicated that there could have been poor visibility on the road at the time of the accident.
The truck was fully loaded when it collided with the passenger bus.
This is an ongoing investigation, police said.
