Scientists from the University of Hong Kong, China, have created a prototype of a robot that can switch from a solid state to a liquid state and vice versa.
And Russia Today website quoted the scientists as saying: “This robot was made of tiny magnetic particles of neodymium, iron and boron elements immersed in gallium, and the melting temperature of the resulting material is 29.8 degrees Celsius,” noting that this robot can bypass obstacles and climb walls. In one experiment, scientists forced him to transfer a light-emitting diode to a plate, fix it, and light it.
And the scientists added: During the experiments, they were able to teach the robot to move and transfer the load, and in the solid state it is able to transport a load thirty times greater than its weight, and it can also transform into a liquid state by placing it between magnets with fixed magnetic fields, and in this case there is no need to a heat source.
