Former US President Donald Trump has launched his campaign for the 2024 presidential election with appearances in two US states.
In New Hampshire and South Carolina he presented his campaign team for the states.
Trump told a small crowd in New Hampshire that he was angrier and more committed than ever.
Trump announced that he wanted to fight the “corrupt political establishment”.
And: »We need a president who is ready to get started on day one«.
Trump also repeated his lie about voter fraud and again claimed to have won the 2020 presidential election.
Moreover, under his leadership, the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine would never have happened.
In South Carolina, Trump spoke to about 200 people, alongside Republican state senator Lindsey Graham.
Both New Hampshire and South Carolina are among the states that start the Republican primary early.
The internal party votes will decide who will run for the party in the next elections in 2024 for the presidency.
Donald Trump declared his candidacy in November after the US midterm elections.
So far, no opposing Republican candidate has dared to break cover.
However, several are said to have ambitions.
Among them are Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Trump's former Vice President Mike Pence and former Trump Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
DeSantis could become Trump's closest competitor
If he were to enter the race for the candidacy, polls show that DeSantis could become Trump's closest competitor.
He was re-elected governor of Florida in November's midterm elections with nearly 60 percent of the vote.
Trump's announcement of a renewed candidacy came exactly a week after the midterm elections, in which the Republicans had fared worse than expected and several Trump-backed candidates suffered heavy defeats.
Many Republicans blame Trump, who has divided the United States like no other president before him, for the disappointing course of the midterms.
