An Israeli court on Sunday sentenced a Palestinian man to life in prison and another 20 years in prison after convicting him of the rape and murder of a young Israeli woman, according to the judgment released by the court.
Arafat Irfaiya, a Palestinian from Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank, was on trial in Jerusalem District Court for the February 2019 murder of 19-year-old Ori Ansbacher.
The three judges ruled that the murder was a "
terrorist act
", according to the judgment.
Arafat Irfaiya, in his thirties, was sentenced to life in prison for the murder and another 20 years for the rape, according to the same source.
The murder was committed in a Jerusalem forest near a youth center where the young woman worked as part of her national service.
