The US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, is expected to visit Jerusalem in the shadow of the terrorist attacks and the security escalation, but it would be a mistake on Israel's part to allow the Palestinian issue to dominate the agenda of his visit. Despite its seriousness and explosiveness, it would be correct to place it as only a secondary issue in the plan of the visit and not in its center.

First, Palestinian terrorism must not be given the impression that it succeeds in dictating the political agenda.

Second, because the key to change in this issue is not in the hands of the Americans and intervention on their part will bring with it pressures and limitations, especially on Israel.

And thirdly, and this is the decisive reason - because the main challenge for Israel and the entire region is the Iranian threat, in which the US is still a key player.

The main challenge for Israel and the entire region is the Iranian threat, and the US is still a key player in this respect.

From Israel's point of view, this visit will be crowned with success if it leads to an agreement on a "road map" for a joint confrontation with Iran, which will include the following elements:

• American-European declaration of the "death" of the 2015 nuclear agreement and an appeal to the Security Council to promote a decision on the renewal of sanctions against Iran according to the nuclear agreement.

• The tightening of American supervision over the implementation of the sanctions imposed on Iran, with an emphasis on oil exports.

• Increasing supervision and countermeasures against Iranian procurement of machines and dual-use materials.

• The worsening of Iran's political isolation, including the suspension of its membership in international frameworks.

• Countermeasures to delay progress in the nuclear program.

• Promotion of a military option.

It is correct to convince the USA that its steps will not necessarily drag it into a war with Iran. On the contrary, if these measures are not taken, the probability of a regional war will increase greatly.

It is difficult to assess the chances that the Biden administration, which is currently busy with other "burning" problems and has engraved on its banner the attitude "diplomacy is the best solution", will trust its hands to such a map.

However, even the staunch supporters of the diplomatic approach in the White House will find it difficult today to deny the failure it has suffered so far with Iran and the high prices the US is paying for it.

On Biden's watch, Iran accelerated its moves in the military nuclear field, continued its subversive actions in the region and activated terrorist metastases throughout the Middle East.

The hand extended by the Americans and Europeans to the representatives of the Islamic Republic was returned empty.

Unwittingly, the policies of the White House and its weakness in the Middle East also pushed Saudi Arabia and other countries into the bosom of Russia and China.

Perhaps now that diplomatic efforts have failed and in view of Iran's involvement in the war in Ukraine and the struggle for the new world order, Washington will also recognize the opportunity that Israel is pointing to to restore the US's position in the Middle East and strengthen the pro-Western front.

Undoubtedly, such a change in US policy will also help promote normalization efforts between Saudi Arabia and Israel, and in terms of Jerusalem it is another destination to visit. It is right to discuss together the chances of establishing full peace with Saudi Arabia that will also bring an end to the Arab-Israeli conflict. It is in its entirety, it is important to move towards it in steps.

Don't get excited by the authority

The support of President Biden and his people for Israel, after the weekend attacks, warms the heart.

In no way should she be underestimated.

Against this background, the position of Abu Mazen stands out, who not only did not condemn the attacks, but also placed the responsibility for the escalation on Israel.

Israel's activity in Jenin is evidence of the Palestinian Authority's continued failure to control its territory and to deny the legitimacy of terrorism. Furthermore, the Palestinian Authority indirectly contributes to encouraging terrorism (glorification of terrorists, financial rewards to terrorists and their families).
