Two of those murdered in the horrific massacre that happened on Saturday night in the Neve Ya'akov neighborhood in Jerusalem will be laid to rest today (Sunday) at noon.
At 12:00 the funeral of Raphael Ben Eliyahu will begin and an hour later, at 13:00 Shaul Chai will be buried.
Both funerals left the obituary house of the Jerusalem communities on Mount Hamanuhut.
Ben Eliyahu (56), worked at the post office and left behind a wife and four children.
One of his children, a young man of about 22, was seriously injured during the attack and is hospitalized in Hadassah Hospital in Mount Scopus.
According to family members, they were on their way home after a family meal when they encountered a terrorist who came towards them with his car and shot Ben Eliyahu at point blank range.
The son protected his mother with his body and saved her life.
Shaul Chai (68), was the collector of the synagogue "Remember Avraham" in Pisgat Ze'ev.
He was murdered on his way to a Torah class.
Residents of the neighborhood who knew Hai said: "He was everyone's father, no one asked him for anything and he said no."
In the attack, seven civilians were killed and three were injured near the "Etaret Avraham" synagogue in the Neve Ya'akov neighborhood.
The 21-year-old terrorist Alkam Khairi arrived in the neighborhood by car and began slaughtering the residents, while advancing towards the synagogue, where he continued to shoot the worshipers who frequented the place on Shabbat evening.
After that, he fled towards Beit Hanina where he ran into the policemen who were at a makeshift checkpoint and started shooting at them.
They shot him back and neutralized him.
