achieved today one of the initial surprises of the 2023 season in the activity, by defeating the British
Karol Itauma
by knockout in the fifth round , who left his undefeated, in a fight developed at the mythical Wembley stadium, in London .
The 36-year-old boxer from La Plata was thus left with the World Council (WBC) light heavyweight international champion belt.
Maderna, representative of Argentine boxing in the
2008 Beijing Olympic Games
, obtained
his first victory outside of Argentine territory
, with a powerful knockout that came as a result of a right hand to the area of the opponent's ear.

a record of 29 wins (19 on the fast track) and 10 losses
, while Itauma was stripped of his undefeated record and now has a record of 9 wins (7 by KO) and one loss.
