The decision to distribute weapons to civilians as a response to the massacre in Neve Ya'akov is one of the most defeatist decisions an Israeli cabinet has ever received.
There is no more "safe haven".
From now on the Wild West will reign in the Land of Israel.
This is a decision that reflects the desperation and loss of way of a government that has just started the way.
It also projects a loss of control, when the main promise of the new coalition was to take control of the situation.

The cabinet's decision is unfortunate because there is no shortage of weapons on the streets of the country, and certainly in Jerusalem.
Rather, there is too much of it.
Instead of scattering more guns in the quiet streets of the city, what is needed is the collection of the illegal weapons, from the dangerous streets of the capital.
After all, gunshots are heard 24/7 throughout East Jerusalem.
Because of the loss of enforcement and deterrence in these areas, individual attacks are carried out.
What's more, at least some of the legal weapons that Jews will purchase today, will reach the illegal Arab market tomorrow.
So the addition of weapons on the streets will only increase terrorism at the end of the day.
So what did the ministers do with their regulation?

In general, the citizen asks himself, why do my taxes finance a huge security system, if in the end the government tells me to protect myself with my own resources.
In carrying out the responsibility to the citizens, the government admits that it cannot provide this security.
This is a very serious development, especially because it comes from a head of government and ministers who attacked their predecessors for a lack of defense hands.
Think before you act
This governmental weakness is a bad message not only to our enemies (they have already gotten used to the Jewish weakness and have not been afraid for a long time) but also within the nation of Israel.
The Prime Minister twice called on citizens not to take the law into their own hands.
But in his actions he sends the opposite message.
When his government is unable to provide security and on its first day sends the citizens to fend for themselves, he almost invites acts of revenge.
After all, there is no one to the right of this coalition.
And if this government does not protect the citizens, then who will?
In addition to all this, Netanyahu is invited to inquire with the American Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, who will arrive in Israel tomorrow, what is happening in a country where weapons roam the streets unhindered.
Is the government now ordering mass massacres like in America?
Think before you act.
Instead of shirking responsibility, Netanyahu and the ministers should take responsibility.
They must present hope and a plan that will both strengthen Jewish sovereignty in Israel and eradicate terrorism.
That's why they were chosen.
