Dr. Elazar Ben Harash has been appointed Director General of the Ministry for the Development of the Periphery, the Negev and the Galilee and will become one of the prominent government ministries in the coming term with an estimated budget of NIS 2 billion


The Government of Israel has approved the appointment of Dr. Elazar Ben Harash as the Director General of the Ministry for the Development of the Periphery, the Negev and the Galilee. Dr. Ben Harash is 43 years old (married + 4) and has extensive management experience in policy formulation, implementation research and project management in scope significant in the fields of planning, land and statistics.



In addition to the ministry's activities in the Negev, the Galilee, and mixed cities, the ministry under the management of Dr. Ben Harash is expected to significantly expand the scope of its activities and operate in neighborhoods with a high rate of infiltrators, in the Hajjana settlement, and to receive additional departments under its responsibility, including the Youth Authority Next to the Senior Senior Citizens Division and the Authority for the Planning and Development of Settlement and Rural Agriculture, the ministry's budget is expected to jump to about 2 billion NIS.

The government's approval of the appointment of Dr. Ben Harash was given after a committee of the Civil Service Commission unanimously approved the appointment.
