Authorities from the border state of Tijuana reported a fire in a factory located in the Otay industrial zone.
The events occurred around 5:30 am, in a cardboard recycler located on Fray Mayorga street in the Otay Centenario Delegation.
Teams from the Tijuana Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, the Tijuana Fire Department, and Civil Protection went to the area to fight the fire and assess the damage to the property and its surroundings.

"The team continues to work on the fire at the factory in Otay and I am informed that there are 7 companies that have material damage and that at the moment there are no people injured," Montserrat Caballero, mayor of Tijuana, wrote in a Facebook post. .
The magnitude of the fire led to the evacuation of 12 workers from the plant where the incident occurred.
The firefighters have detailed that "the incident is contained", but their officers continue to work at the scene where only material losses and damage to the environment have been reported.

The Tijuana authorities have called for the community to take precautions when driving through the Otay area.
